As word began to spread about the breakaway league’s imminent collapse after Tuesday’s game against Crewe Alexandra at Highbury, Town’s head coach expressed his relief.
Grayson said: ““I’m like 90-odd per cent of people in this country and worldwide who are totally against it.
“Relegations and promotions are part of of our tradition and heritage for all the divisions and the grassroots.
“It seems clubs are starting to realise that the reaction of the whole footballing world has not been great, hence they’re pulling out now.
“People come up with these big brainwaves to do this, that and the other but I say don’t fix what’s not broken.
“Yes, maybe adapt to things and maybe change things around slightly – you hear managers in the Premier League talking about that – but don’t go for wholesale changes like these.
“It would be disruptive through the whole of football and for supporters across the world.”
