Crash on M6 forces lane to close and rolling roadblock on M6 near Lancaster
One lane has been closed on the M6 southbound following a collision between junctions 37 (Killington Interchange) and 36 (Tebay Interchange) today (August 6).
Police, fire crews and paramedics have been called to the incident – which occurred at around 6.50am.
A rolling road block had been put in place while emergency services moved the vehicles from lane three.
It has been reported the collision involved a car trailer which had overturned.

Mighty oak forces Preston couple to flee their home
A young couple claim they have been driven out of their dream home following a dispute over a neighbour’s tree.
“We’re incredibly upset,” said the homeowner in The Drive, Fulwood, who asked not to be named.
“Our house is in darkness for most of the day due to this huge tree and now our plans for an extension have had to be withdrawn because they say the foundations might upset the roots of it.” – Full story

Reports of body found in Blackburn canal as area taped off by police
Police were called to the Leeds Liverpool Canal close to Warwick Court shortly before 9am this morning (August 5).
Officers quickly cordoned off the area and a forensic tent was set up.
It has now been confirmed that police were responding to reports a body had been found in the canal.
Search continues for wanted Chorley man after suspected arson attack traps family inside burning building
Fire crews received an emergency call from a home in Vicarage Street, near Erskine Road park, at around 3.10am on Wednesday, June 24.
Three people were found trapped inside one of the upstairs rooms when firefighters arrived, with flames tearing through the bottom floor of the building.
The terrified family were rescued by firefighters who smashed through an upstairs window before being handed over to paramedics at the scene.
Police have now launched a fresh appeal to help trace Sean Fisher, 24, who is wanted in connection with the incident.
Motorist captures terrifying near miss with campervan on M6 near Preston
Shocking footage captures the moment a motorist is forced to swerve out of the way of an undertaking campervan on the M6 near Preston.
In the clip the campervan can be seen dangerously undertaking several cars before straddling two lanes on a busy Sunday morning
The speeding vehicle then manages to narrowly miss the motorist who caught the incident on camera and the Land Rover in front, leaving merely inches between them.

William Hill announces that 119 betting shops will remain closed due to fall in customer numbers
Bosses at William Hill said that 119 of its betting shops will remain closed as they do not expect customers to return in the numbers seen before the Covid-19 pandemic.
It said that “the majority of colleagues (will be) redeployed within the estate”. William Hill runs more than 1,500 betting shops around the UK.
Chief executive Ulrik Bengtsson said: “I am delighted with William Hill’s performance in these extraordinary times. Our team has been remarkable, supporting each other and our customers throughout the pandemic, and I would like to thank them for their continuing efforts.
“The furlough scheme provided welcome and timely support, and meant we could protect the jobs of our 7,000 UK retail colleagues. Therefore, given the strength of our recovery post-lockdown, we have decided to repay the furlough funds.”

Man charged after cyclist seriously injured in Fleetwood collision
Police were called to reports a cyclist and a car had collided at the junction of Heathfield Road and Lindel Road, close to the One Stop shop, on Sunday (August 2).
It was reported a man in his 20s had been riding his bike on the pavement when a Peugeot 206 car collided with him at around 1.35pm.
The cyclist suffered serious injuries to his arm and leg and was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment.
Gareth Baker, 24, of Harbour Way, Fleetwood, has now been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
