In the North West today (Sunday, October 4, 2020), there has been a total of 91,823 confirmed cases since testing began – an increase of 3,539.

There are currently 725 people in the region’s hospitals who are being treated for COVID-19, including 91 on ventilation.

A total of 20,942 people have received treatment for the virus at North West hospitals since the pandemic began.

In order of Upper Tier Local Authorities (e.g. Lancashire County Council, Blackpool Council etc.) most affected:

Manchester – 8,770 (Up from 8,224)

Cumbria – 3,678 (Up from 3,624)

Wigan – 3,805 (Up from 3,633)

Rochdale – 3,636 (Up from 3,528)

Salford – 3,382 (Up from 3,231)

Tameside – 3,215 (Up from 3,113)

Cheshire East – 3,094 (Up from 3,015)

Sefton – 3,190 (Up from 3,039)
