An ‘incredible’ charity that has supported survivors of sexual violence across Lancashire for 12 years is set to close.
The charity appealed for support in December, warning that it was ‘under threat of disappearing’ and asking local residents to write to their MP.
Sadly, the Preston-based provider of specialist support services for survivors of rape and sexual abuse has now confirmed its imminent closure.
In a statement on its website, a spokesperson for Trust House Lancashire said: “It’s with heavy hearts that we must confirm that Trust House Lancashire will be closing its doors for the final time on the 1st of May 2026.
“Despite our best efforts we have been unable to secure the necessary funding to keep the service going.

“We’re immensely proud of the work we have done over the last 12 years, supporting survivors from across Lancashire.
“We are also incredibly proud of our clients who have been brave enough to reach out for support.”
First established in 2013 – and becoming an independent charity in 2017 – the organisation offers therapeutic support to those in the Lancashire community who have experienced sexual violence or abuse.
Supporting those aged four and above, a range of therapy services are available, including one-to-one support, family services and group sessions, as well as training for professionals.
Responding to the announcement, Chorley Women’s Centre said: “We are absolutely devastated to hear this news. Thank you for all the incredible work you have done to improve the lives of countless people. From our team to yours we send you love and positivity.”
Trust House Lancashire will continue to provide support until its closure on May 1.
