E-bike rider dead and two pedestrians seriously injured in horror crash

People are being urged to avoid the area

An e-bike rider has tragically died and two pedestrians rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a horror crash.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the incident on Rochdale Road in Blackley, North Manchester.

Police have confirmed the rider, a male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both pedestrians have been rushed to hospital and members of the public were being advised to avoid the area.

A significant cordon was put in place on Rochdale Road last night (December 2).

Closures are also in place on Whitemoss Road and Lionbrow Road.

A force spokesperson said: “Officers are dealing with a serious RTC on Rochdale Road in north Manchester between a e-bike rider and two pedestrians.

“The male e-bike rider has sadly been pronounced dead at the scene, and the two pedestrians have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“While officers continue with their investigations, there will be significant road closures in place.

“Namely on Rochdale Road, Whitemoss Road and Lionbrow Road.

“Please avoid the area if you can and find an alternative route,” the M.E.N. reports.
